USE OF THE DIGITAL CAMERA IN HEALTH

Description In the two following presentations, you will see how the digital camera has been used to encourage students to learn more about feelings. In the first activity, teacher encourages students to express different feelings on their faces. Teacher is taking pictures. Pictures are then arranged in a PhotoStory project (see Project by Teacher). In the second activity, students take turn taking pictures of adults working in their school. Pictures are then arranged in a PhotoStory project. For each picture, students are encouraged to make up and tell a short story in French (see Project by Students).
Standards Addressed
Maryland Technology Standards for Teachers Students enjoyed these whole-class projects, that integrated Health, French Language Arts, and Technology. I felt that students were most interested and engaged in their learning. They seemed proud of seeing their projectbs on screen and sharing them with others, including their parents.
